It may seem contradictory to tell people to remember God in the good times. So many of us are good about daily walks and talks with Christ. However, I feel like there are times in my life where I turn to God as soon as something goes wrong and realize I haven’t had a steady relationship until I needed something.
This is more common than I’m really ready to admit but it is so important. Christ gives us many commands: do not be anxious, love your neighbor, look to Him in times of trouble. I think we forget, though, that on a good day He is there. On a day where you don’t feel you need any help, He is there. On a day where you just got that promotion, you landed the contract, or your family is growing, not only is He there with you, but it is BECAUSE of Him and His great love for you that you are having the opportunity to celebrate.
I challenge you to make God a part of your normal life. A part of your everyday routine and someone that you talk to like a best friend. Yes, He is there for us in our struggles, our doubts, our rock bottom moments, but He is the reason we rejoice in our highs and victories and is ready to rejoice with us if we allow Him. Embrace His goodness, His grace, and His love.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil- this is the gift of God.” Ecclesiastes 3:10-13
